Marvel, DC, and more were represented today. Alistair made some logos to play with and created his own superhero power—punching his food (?!). I made “Super Stick Man!” and Elsa-power-themed cuffs.
I also managed to step way out of my comfort zone with paint today… I’ve always been super nervous about paint projects with the kids. But we successfully made Iron Man handprints without getting paint everywhere!
While on our walk, we attempted to make one of those cool sidewalk chalk art scenes. It was harder than it looked on Pinterest. The kids were hesitant to lay on the pavement and kept trying to look at the camera, which just gave them double chins and a weird look on their faces.
I managed to incorporate a little bit of math into today’s theme, too, which always feels like a special “win.” We made a superhero addition game with our multi-colored abacus (not pictured). The colors coordinated perfectly with the Avengers… If Captain America (blue) saved 5 people, the Hulk (green) saved 5, and Iron Man (gold) saved 3, how many people were saved?
We finished out the day by reading a short Batman/Batgirl book from Alistair’s shelf. All in all, a good day!
