One very silly little monkey came by our house—and made a big mess! He wanted to help his friends—the chef, doctor, handyman, and artist—but he got all their tools mixed up! So we started off the day by figuring out what the tools did and who they belonged too. (This was inspired by some cool STEM lessons from PBS.)
Then, we had our big event of the day—a social-distance-safe outing to Lowe’s! We wore our masks (sort of… at least I did) and the kids stayed in the cart. We mostly traveled along the middle-to-back of the store where there were fewer people. The kids were so impressed with the lighting section…. according to Lydia, it looked like Princess Belle’s castle! 😆 I asked them which was their favorite. Lydia liked a lantern style light and Alistair liked one with rocks laid out in a pattern on it.
We finished up outside under the sun in the garden section. I wanted to get a little plant, since we have Wall-E day coming up later this week. There were a lot of pretty flowers, but we decided to go with our “cookie” plant (a.k.a. lavender), because it smelled like freshly baked cookies to us. One of the employees gave us some great tips for caring for it and making the most of the very useful plant.
