I had fun making the table look like we were speeding into space!
For our first craft, I helped the kids make paper bag Chewbaccas. Trying to do crafts with Lydia is a bit like wrestling a fire hose—she was crazy with her marker and glue sticks—but everything turned out okay and we had fun trying out our best Chewbacca roars!
Next, Alistair and I designed our own paper plate droids. He said his had a stealthy getaway mode (the green side). Mine ended up reminding me of a tribal mask. 😅
Then Alistair found a how-to-draw R2-D2 video using numbers and letter. He did a good job!
At dinnertime, we enjoyed a game of “Would You Rather: Star Wars Edition” I found on Pinterest.
Later when I was cleaning up, I was going to throw out some old, extra bubble wands, but then realized they’d make fun lightsabers! I made handle covers out of toilet paper rolls then filled them with water and put glow sticks inside. Ms. Bam Bam broke her blue lightsaber by whacking it on the ground before I could even get my phone to take a pic. 🤨 Good thing I made 3… She lost interest pretty quickly, but Alistair and I had fun playing with them. It was pretty amusing to fence someone with the hiccups! 😆
We finished the evening with one of Alistair’s Star Wars books. All in all a great day!
